July 25, 1965:  Bob Dylan Goes Electric at Newport Folk Festival
On this day in 1965, Bob Dylan took the stage at the Newport Folk Festival with his Fender Stratocaster and launched into an electrified version of “Maggie’s Farm”, with Al Kooper on the organ and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band backing him.  Dylan’s new direction was almost immediately met with shouts and boos, especially when he went on to play the now-classic “Like A Rolling Stone.”
Nearly a half-century later, a woman thinks she may have found the iconic Stratocaster that outraged the crowd at the Newport Folk Festival.  History Detectives investigates if the guitar in her possession is really the iconic instrument that changed Rock ‘n’ Roll forever.
