MARCH 12, 1947: TRUMAN DOCTRINE ESTABLISHED
Sixty-five years ago today, President Harry Truman presented a policy to combat communism in Greece and Turkey.

Watch a segment recalling the Truman Doctrine from American Experience’s film, “The Presidents: Truman.”
